The WHS Group Academy develops training curriculum by adopting a systematic approach. Through close consultation, client specific needs are identified and course requirements subsequently define. Customized content is then developed and targeted to directly support client requirements. A modular approach may be used to cater to client time constraints and to allow as much flexibility as possible in providing the training service; however, the WHS Group standards for course completion are never compromised. Frequent comprehension testing and certificate examinations are conducted during and at the completion of every course. Targeted practical exercises ensure that the student receives every possible opportunity to achieve rewards commensurate with the effort expended.
When an emergency response organization is activated due to a crisis that must be handled, it is not uncommon that the personnel identified to fill the roles within the organization are not trained to deal with the unique requirements imposed in extraordinary situations. These are normally people with different jobs every other day, who have a crisis management responsibility as a secondary duty. Good leaders and managers in the day to day functioning of an organization do not necessarily make good crisis response leaders. And leadership during an emergency is critical. Without it, the response effort is doomed to failure. In studying companies that have had to deal with emergency management situations in the past, the two primary reasons most companies do not survive later bankruptcy is poor emergency response preparedness and a lack of effective crisis leadership during the event.
In order to address these common problems, WHS Group Academy has developed a series of leadership presentations and workshops that focus directly on crisis leadership and crisis management. Supervisors, managers, and leaders in command will discuss the key issues in crisis leadership, the techniques to success and the various stressors that make this role one of the most challenging. This training allows those in decision-making positions to be prepared and thus improve the company’s chances at getting through the emergency event and survive.
